• He is the Reason for the Season

The Christmas shopping is done! I won’t say that absolutely everything was purchased before December 1, but my list was crossed off.  The kids still have a bit of shopping that they want to do.  My whole reason behind finishing my Christmas shopping early this year was to be able to ENJOY the Christmas season.  We are 6 days into December, and I feel like the busy hustle of life is still getting in the way.  Too many errands to run, too much laundry to do, too many practices to shuttle to… Y’all know I have talked about it’s all in the way you look at your situation before.  For…

  • It’s all about how you look at it…

It truly is all about how you look at “it”…whatever that “it” might be.  This picture may look like a jumbled mess to one and a treasure to another.  To me it is beautiful.  It’s not beautiful just because I love jewelry.  It’s beautiful because of the memories that go along with it.  That doesn’t mean I know exactly when and where I acquired each treasure.  It means that I can think of different occasions where I wore a certain piece, and it brings back the memory of that.  I drift off from my point though. This past holiday weekend we went to Enchant Christmas in Arlington, Texas.  It was…

  • In the Kitchen & Down Memory Lane

Holidays bring back lots of memories…mostly good ones.  Even the ones that make me sad are usually good.  At Thanksgiving when I start thinking about what I will bring to our family dinner, I always think of my Granny.  Her house was where we had our Thanksgiving meal.  She made the turkey and dressing and lots of weird salads that as a child a would not touch! One year while I was in college, I didn’t get to come home for Thanksgiving.  I called Granny to get her dressing recipe.  That sounds simple.  It was not.  She didn’t have a recipe.  She made it by memory…maybe that’s why some years…

  • Another Goal Set!!

This goal may actually be more difficult than my previous one of finishing my first half Ironman triathlon! I still feel a bit fake saying I did it because the swim was cancelled, but that is not the point today.  My goal is…drum roll: to be finished Christmas shopping by 12/01/2018! It has been declared publicly, so now it is really real. I don’t want to be finished Christmas shopping because I don’t like shopping.  I do like shopping, and I like giving gifts to others even more.  I don’t like the pressure that I sometimes feel with the Christmas present.  There are set people that you buy for each…

  • Goal Accomplished…kind of

I am a runner…or I was just a runner.  Prior to March of this year anytime someone mentioned any kind of event that was any more than running, I simply wasn’t interested.  I especially balked at swimming.  A friend said, “Hey! There is a triathlon in my hometown.  Why don’t we do it?” Why not? I signed up and the rest is history.  Not really — there is a lot that went on in the middle.  I balked at swimming because I didn’t know how to swim efficiently.  I wouldn’t drown in a pool, but that was about it.  I sure would have never thought of getting into a large…

  • What’s the name all about?

Izzy! That is the name of this gorgeous necklace and also of our precious daughter.  Names are interesting.  When we had our first children (yes children – they are twins) we were determined that they would be called by the name that we gave them as a first name.  One is named is named Matthew.  We didn’t want it cut to Matt.  We didn’t want them called by their middle name either.  Maybe these were just hangups of first time parents, but we were serious about it.  Then comes along our daughter five years later.  We created our list of names, and after we said that the boys would not…

  • Feeling Fancy

There is something about putting on a bit of jewelry, some lipstick & clothing that is not meant for lounging that makes you feel good…even if you didn’t want to do it in the first place.  It’s amazing how a bit of self care & taking a moment (even if it’s just a quick moment) for yourself, helps your attitude.  It helps mine anyway.  I saw these turquoise earrings in September when Plunder Design released it’s fall jewelry.  I thought they were stunning but just not something I could wear.  They were BIG! Then I started seeing them on friends and fellow stylists, so I decided what the heck, maybe…

  • She’s a doer!

She’s a dreamer, a doer, a thinker, a maker. Plunder Design’s anthem necklace this year has this phrase.  I think all apply but “doer” seems most fitting.  As a wife, momma, & multi-job holder, I think that “doer” dominates.  I don’t sit still well, so maybe that’s a good thing.  I would much rather have my schedule full than empty.  I know the days will come when my littles aren’t little anymore. This momma isn’t ready for that yet.  So, I will find my smile & keep doing & be thankful that there is much to do!

  • Welcome to my CrazyFullLife

This picture was taken the day my youngest started kindergarten.  I have wanted to blog for awhile, but couldn’t find a way to get started.  I thought when my youngest started school that would certainly free up more time…I think I was wrong! Crazy Full Life is a very accurate description of what I have going on. My husband has a business.  I am his bookkeeper.  I am a pharmacist.  I have a variety of jobs that go along with that title.  I “mom” full time.  I am a Plunder Design stylist & leader for fun & social interaction.  The title fits, yes? So, I decided now is as…
