• How to Bloom? 5 ways…

“Give yourself the same care and attention that you give others and watch yourself BLOOM.” It is much easier to make plants bloom than people! It is sometimes easier for me to focus on helping others bloom than myself. Someone once told me that you have to be pruned in able to bloom. That pruning process can be painful, and therefore, it is not all that appealing. Momlife is busy. All of life is busy. I don’t think it matters what stage of life that you are in. There is always something that occupies your time and/or mind. I’m a wife and a mom. I have a variety of jobs…

  • Goals & Life

I use a variety of shake mixes. One of them that I order came with some recipe cards and a cute inspirational image. I read it and thought about it for a minute. Then, I stuffed it into a notebook. I found it last week and started thinking again. Maybe it stuck this time because of what is going on in life during this season. The days are longer. The kids don’t necessarily have more activities going on, but they seem to run later. Therefore, supper and bedtime run later. That combination can add to grumpy kids and me having to be a dictator rather than a mom. This is…

  • Spring Break Defined

Spring Break for kids & moms (or parents in general – I just say Moms because that’s what I am!) is defined a bit differently! KIDS Spring Break: a time to de-schedule, sleep in, stay up later and enjoy being a kid. MOMS Spring Break: a time to de-schedule (if you are fortunate enough to be home), entertain kids, referee fights, and slack on housework & laundry. The week AFTER Spring Break… KIDS the week AFTER: a time to be tired, draggy & sometimes grumpy; definitely don’t want to go to bed or school! MOMS the week AFTER: still refereeing (because of the grumpies), lots of laundry, and a super…

  • Lent begins

I have been anticipating Lent this year. I didn’t grow up practicing Lent, but for the last several years, we as a family have tried to find ways to observe it. I was all excited as Ash Wednesday approached. I had listened to a podcast called “Preparing Your Heart for Lent”…twice! I was ready. Our Ash Wednesday service is special to me because our church combines with another local church for this service. I love the openness and welcoming feeling it gives to the entire community. As I said I WAS excited…I did enjoy the service. But I had left our youngest one at home with my husband – not…

  • So much more than pigs…

Pigs are complicated creatures. Before our boys started showing pigs a couple of years ago, I had a different vision of a pig’s life. I thought that they liked to lay in the sun, roll in the mud, and eat. I was not correct in all those assumptions. They do like to lay in the sun. We don’t give them a chance to roll in the mud. They have a nice cozy pen with dirt and shavings and a heat lamp. I was really wrong on the eating part. Some of our pigs really do like to eat. Others make me stand on my head trying to figure out why…

  • Enjoy it NOW! Why?

Why? Why do you do what you do? Why? Why did I decide to start a blog called my “crazyfulllife”? Was it a goal? Did I need to do it? Was it a requirement? No. I started this blog because it has brought me joy. I enjoy writing. I like to put my thoughts to paper or in this case electronic media. So why has it been so long since I last contributed anything to my CrazyFullLife? Life gets busy. I get so focused on the five jillion things that have to be done (or that I think have to be done) that I lose focus on the bigger picture.…

  • Happy New Year!

As the new year begins, I am viewing it as a fresh start…a time to reboot and refocus. Resolutions are what we normally hear discussed at the first of the year. What are you going to change? What habit are you going to break? What are you going to do differently? This year I have still heard mention of resolutions and goals, but several of my friends have been discussing their WORD for 2019. I like this idea. I had to think about it for a bit, and I have to admit, I wanted my word to cover a broad area of life. As the top image of this blog…

  • New Year…New Goals?

Last year was the first year I created a Vision Board. I think this is a fancy way of saying “goal setting”. It sounds prettier to me anyway. Now that a new year is upon us, I started searching for my 2018 Vision Board. I created a digital one & shared it with some friends for accountability…it’s scary to share these kind of things sometimes. Since it had been shared, it was pretty easy to locate. The problem with the digital version for me is that I don’t know if I looked at again after January of this year. Today I did what many do when they want to create…

  • Christmas Traditions

It is less than a week from Christmas Day, and that has me thinking about traditions…ones that we practice and have for many years and new traditions that I might want to start. I have friends that prepare certain recipes each year.  There are others that wear certain clothing like new pajamas or Christmas sweaters.  The first tradition that comes to mind for me includes cowbells and Santa hats.  We somehow managed to gather several blue cowbells after I ran the Boston Marathon in 2011.  The children are always able to find them on Christmas morning and run into our bedroom clanging them wearing Santa hats.  I haven’t had a…

  • Mom’s Birthday!

Mother and daughter relationships can be complicated.  I know at times mom thinks I hung the moon and at other times she wants to strangle me, but at all times she loves me.  She (along with Dad) has always been my biggest cheerleader. Today we celebrate her birthday.  Last night I looked through pictures to share on social media to wish her Happy Birthday, and I came across pictures of when my daughter was little bitty and also pictures of my grandmother that has passed away.  It is amazing the resemblance that is passed down through the generations.  I can see my 80 year old grandmother’s beauty in the face…
